JOB DESCRIPTION - full time opportunity with a leading North American energy company, serving as the world's largest generator of renewable energy from wind and solar, along with being a major owner of battery storage and nuclear assets.
• All assigned renewable generation substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution).
• In the conceptual phase, you will work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support the engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group. Projects can begin as FERC 1000 competitive transmission project proposals, or as greenfield projects for affiliates (Lone Star, GridLiance, Florida Renewable Partners, Florida Power and Light).
• Plans, coordinates, and completes large-scale or several medium or small, complex, or long-term project(s) within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
• Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes.
• Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
• Identifies issues and challenges, measures, and validates results, and implements solutions.
• Provides information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
• Creates and communicates presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders. Training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record (EOR) for all assigned substation projects to ensure compliance with required generation interconnection
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is highly preferred.
• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus.
• Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
