Project Engineer – Electric Engineering (Transmission & Substation)
Overview

Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is supporting a leading utilities provider delivering large-scale infrastructure and grid modernization programs. We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the engineering, design, and execution of complex transmission and substation projects.
This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact projects within a dynamic utility environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive delivery from concept through construction.

Role Summary
This is a mid-level (journey-level) engineering role requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently. You will lead elements of engineering design, support project delivery, and collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise across transmission and substation engineering projects
Perform engineering analyses, technical studies, and develop conceptual designs
Lead design reviews, walkdowns, and coordination meetings with project teams
Prepare and review technical documentation including reports, specifications, and design criteria
Evaluate and support engineering consultants and contractor deliverables
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Support project planning, execution, and problem resolution across multiple projects
Contribute to root cause analysis and development of practical, cost-effective solutions
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet project objectives
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where needed

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
3+ years of experience in power systems engineering and design
Strong understanding of transmission and/or substation engineering principles
Experience working within utility or infrastructure projects
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills

Preferred Experience
Experience in substation design and engineering
Exposure to project management or project delivery environments
Professional Engineering (PE) license or working toward certification
