About the Role:
Samsung E&C America, Inc. is a leader in high-tech engineering and construction, specializing in complex, large-scale industrial projects—including state-of-the-art semiconductor facilities—that define the future of infrastructure in Texas and beyond. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and global standards makes us a premier destination for top-tier professionals looking to drive large-scale industrial success.
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic design team for a major semiconductor foundry project in Taylor, Texas. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, constructability, and technical compliance of a massive, high-stakes industrial facility. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design intent and field execution, ensuring seamless coordination between the Engineer of Record (EOR), vendors, and our internal construction teams.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Field Support: Review and evaluate Issued for Construction (IFC) structural drawings prepared by the EOR.
Submission Management: Review and coordinate structural shop drawings, calculations, and submittals from specialty contractors and vendors.
Technical Oversight: Ensure full compliance with project specifications, applicable building codes, and overarching design intent.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between the client (Owner), EORs, contractors, fabricators, and construction teams to resolve design and constructability issues.
Technical Leadership: Facilitate technical discussions regarding RFIs, design clarifications, field changes, and engineering resolutions.
Procurement & Fabrication: Support procurement and fabrication activities by reviewing structural design requirements and vendor deliverables.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Process Systems).
Field Observations: Conduct periodic site observations and work directly with construction teams to address structural installation issues and quality concerns in real-time.
Schedule Management: Track and expedite the resolution of engineering issues to ensure the project remains on schedule and meets critical construction milestones.
Project Closeout: Support commissioning, turnover, and final project closeout activities as required.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, specifically within industrial, semiconductor, mission-critical, or large-scale manufacturing or data center projects.
Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience in structural steel, reinforced concrete, pre-cast concrete, and specialty industrial support systems.
Code Expertise: Strong command of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI standards.
Environment: Demonstrated experience coordinating among Owners, EORs, specialty vendors, and construction teams in a fast-paced Design-Build environment.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in semiconductor fabrication facilities (FABs).
Background working within cleanroom or advanced manufacturing environments.
Previous experience on large-scale EPC or Design-Build projects exceeding $500M.
Proven track record in construction administration, field engineering, and structural coordination during active construction.
