Job Title: Structural Engineer II
Job Location: Vancouver, Washington, United States

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer II to support the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for marine fabrication and shipbuilding programs. This role will focus on structural design, technical problem-solving, fabrication support, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality vessel construction and compliance with applicable marine and industry standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in vessel design, structural engineering, shipbuilding environments, and marine fabrication projects involving aluminum and steel structures.

Key Responsibilities:
Design aluminum and steel vessel structures based on project specifications and engineering requirements
Create structural models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials
Perform lofting and nesting for CNC cutting operations
Conduct structural analysis and engineering calculations for marine fabrication projects
Develop and review technical drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation
Support production teams during vessel construction and fabrication phases
Assist with structural integration, weight, and stability assessments
Evaluate and resolve structural non-conformances, repairs, and deviations
Coordinate with planners, weld engineers, quality teams, and production personnel
Ensure compliance with ABS, USCG, NAVSEA, AISC, and other applicable industry standards
Participate in vessel sea trials and project testing activities
Maintain structural engineering standards and documentation libraries
Support estimating teams during project planning and proposal stages

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Structural, Marine Engineering, or related discipline)
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering preferred
Minimum 5 years of marine industry experience
Experience in vessel design, shipbuilding, or marine fabrication environments preferred
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and marine construction standards
Familiarity with ABS standards and classification society requirements
Experience with CFR, ABYC, IEEE, military contracts, or NAVSEA standards preferred
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
