🛰 Structural Engineer (MGSE) | Space Systems

We’re supporting a cutting-edge space company building a next-generation satellite network designed to connect standard mobile devices directly from orbit. As they scale, they’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in structural design to lead the development of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) used in spacecraft integration and testing.

What you’ll be doing:
Leading the structural design and analysis of MGSE and mechanical subsystems
Developing concepts for large structural assemblies, including welded structures and load-bearing systems
Performing and guiding structural trade-offs, ensuring designs meet strength, stiffness, and safety requirements
Producing detailed engineering documentation including manufacturing drawings and interface control drawings
Supporting AIT activities, ensuring structural integrity during integration, transport, and environmental testing (vibration, shock, TVAC, static load)
Defining and managing mechanical interfaces across subsystems
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, testable, and robust

What you’ll need:
4+ years of experience in structural/mechanical design within aerospace or complex engineering environments
Strong experience with structural analysis and design of load-bearing systems
Proficiency in CAD (Inventor preferred) and experience generating detailed engineering drawings
Understanding of AIT environments and mechanical system integration
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Nice to have:
Experience with FEM and classical structural analysis methods
Background designing MGSE, test fixtures, or large welded assemblies
Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems
Exposure to spacecraft or launch vehicle hardware
