Job Description Summary
Addressing the climate crisis is an urgent global priority. At GE Vernova, our mission is to help shape a cleaner energy future. Steam turbines are a core part of efficient power generation and continue to play an important role in decarbonization.
Our Steam Turbine Services Engineering team supports the global installed fleet by developing retrofit solutions for existing steam turbines. These upgrades help customers increase output, improve performance and reliability, and extend equipment life. Through advanced engineering methods, digital tools, and close cross-functional collaboration, our team delivers solutions that help customers get more value from their assets across the full lifecycle.
If you are energized by technical ownership, practical engineering problem-solving, and the opportunity to improve critical power generation equipment already operating in the field, we invite you to join our Steam Turbine Engineering team.
The Steampath Design Engineer (SPDE) designs state-of-the-art reaction steampaths for retrofit applications in existing steam turbines. These solutions are tailored to customer and unit needs and are aimed at increasing output, improving performance and reliability, and extending the life of installed equipment.
This role is responsible for steampath design, partnering with Turbine Design Engineers to lead projects and collaborating with component engineers. The SPDE works across engineering and manufacturing disciplines and across global locations, including Schenectady, Baden, and Querétaro, to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet performance, schedule, and cost targets. The SPDE may also support feasibility studies, technical reporting, and the resolution of factory and field issues.
