Job Title: Analog Design Engineer (Sr./Staff/Sr. Staff/Principle)
Position Type: Full-Time
Industry: Semiconductor
Location: Santa Clara, CA | Raleigh, NC
Salary Range / Rate: Base $150,000- $300,000 + Bonus & Stock Options
Core Responsibilities
Analog Circuit Design: Design precision analog circuits including comparators, error amplifiers, current sense amplifiers, voltage references, and data converters (ADCs/DACs), depending on project assignment.
Power & Performance Optimization: Apply and extend advanced design techniques to meet either strict quiescent current (Iq) reduction goals or high-speed transient and bandwidth requirements, depending on the product line.
Transistor-Level Execution: Perform hands-on design, simulation, and validation of your circuits, running them through process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners to confirm robustness ahead of production.
Cross-Platform Exposure: Build experience across multiple product lines, contributing to both high-power digital multiphase controllers and low-power consumer multiphase chips as opportunities arise.
Layout Collaboration: Work closely with the physical design team, providing clear guidance on matching, routing, and isolation for your sensitive analog blocks.
Mentorship & Growth: Partner closely with Principal Architects and senior designers, actively participating in design reviews, absorbing best practices, and progressively taking on more independent design ownership.
Collaboration & Communication: Clearly document your design intent and communicate design choices effectively, including with our global engineering teams in China.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 8+ years of hands-on experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design. Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso simulation tools.
Core Foundation: Solid experience designing foundational analog blocks such as amplifiers, comparators, voltage references, or data converters.
Technical Range: Working knowledge of the tradeoffs between bias current, bandwidth, speed, and noise, with a demonstrated ability to apply this understanding to real designs.
Versatility & Drive: A genuine interest in developing expertise across both low-power design methodologies and high-speed/high-performance mixed-signal design, rather than specializing narrowly in one.
Problem Solving: Ability to look beyond standard, off-the-shelf circuit topologies and contribute ideas for novel architectural solutions under guidance from senior designers.
Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail during verification, with a track record of delivering functional, reliable circuits.
Power Management Knowledge: A solid foundational understanding of DC-DC converters and switching regulators.
Team-Oriented Mindset: Highly collaborative, welcomes constructive feedback, asks the right questions, and communicates clearly within a global team.
Preferred Experience
• Background in memory-related power management (e.g., PMIC-on-DIMM for DDR5/DDR6, SSD controller power solutions).
• Background in HPC/High Performance Computing or AI Data Center-related power management.
• Experience in high-volume production from definition to validation.
• Analog designer direct experience in PMIC (multiphase, multi-channel, high integration of power, mixed signal functions) is highly preferred, experience in analog IP blocks (such as low noise or low IQ DC-DC/LDO, high current power stage, etc.) can also be considered
• Knowledge of low-noise, low-power, and high-efficiency design techniques for integrated power solutions.
