About PLM Wireless Team:
A Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team at Tejas Networks, focusing on the Wireless side, would be involved in managing the development, deployment, and maintenance of wireless communication products. Their work includes coordinating product design, optimizing performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and overseeing product updates throughout its lifecycle to meet customer and market needs effectively. They also work on integrating new technologies and improving the efficiency of wireless networks.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Staff Engineer this position drives the end-to-end design, validation, and deployment of high-performance, cloud-native, and disaggregated RAN architectures (including O-RAN compliant systems) that power India’s and the world’s next-generation mobile networks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering (L1/L2/L3), Pre-Sales, and Customers—to translate complex requirements into scalable, standard-compliant, and commercially viable solutions that differentiate Tejas in the global market.
This is a high-impact role with significant ownership over product architecture, customer solutions, and technical leadership in our expanding Wireless portfolio (including Massive MIMO, CU/DU, and converged platforms).
Architect and deliver design of 4G LTE / 5G NR RAN solutions, encompassing gNB/eNB, Radio Units (RU/RRH), Baseband Units (BBU), Centralized Unit (CU), Distributed Unit (DU), and Massive MIMO (32T/64T) systems.
Design and optimize O-RAN compliant architectures, including O-RU, O-DU, O-CU, SMO, and open interfaces (Open Fronthaul eCPRI 7.2x, E2, A1, O1, O2).
Contribute to product roadmap, risk assessment, integration strategies in multi-vendor environments, and continuous optimization of RAN solutions.
Help teams in capacity planning, traffic dimensioning, performance modeling, latency optimization, and scalability analysis for diverse deployment scenarios (urban, rural, private networks, and enterprise).
Collaborate with engineering teams on feature prioritization, system integration, cloud-native/virtualized RAN implementations, and multi-vendor interoperability.
Support pre-sales and post-sales activities: create winning technical proposals, RFP responses, high-impact presentations, BoQ configurations, and solution blueprints for global customers.
Participate in and lead Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), lab trials, field trials, interoperability testing (IOT), and performance benchmarking.
Analyze customer use cases (e.g., enhanced Mobile Broadband, URLLC, mMTC, network slicing) and map them to Tejas’ 3GPP/O-RAN compliant, software-defined solutions.
Ensure full compliance with 3GPP, O-RAN Alliance, ETSI, and specific operator/regulatory requirements while driving indigenous innovation aligned with “Make in India.”
Comprehensive High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) architecture diagrams for 4G/5G RAN, CU-DU split, O-RAN, and converged solutions.
Detailed Solution Design Documents (SDDs), technical write-ups, white papers, and customer-facing presentations.
Accurate network dimensioning models, capacity reports, performance predictions (throughput, latency, spectral efficiency), and scalability assessments.
ORAN compliance matrices, interface specifications, and interoperability test plans.
Bill of Quantities (BoQ), hardware-software mapping, and configuration guidelines for RU, Baseband, CU/DU, and associated components.
High-quality inputs for RFPs, technical proposals, and commercial bids.
PoC/Lab/Field trial reports with detailed performance analysis, optimization recommendations, and success stories.
Risk registers, dependency maps, and integration frameworks for multi-vendor RAN ecosystems.
Mandatory skills:
Deep knowledge of 3GPP Release 15/16/17/18 (5G NR, LTE).
Hands-on experience with O-RAN architecture, open fronthaul, and virtualization (Kubernetes, cloud-native RAN).
Strong understanding of RAN protocols (RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, PHY), Massive MIMO, beamforming, and advanced antenna systems.
Experience in capacity planning tools, performance modeling, and simulation (MATLAB, NS3, or equivalent).
Knowledge of xHaul (fronthaul/midhaul/backhaul), network slicing, edge computing, and integration with 5G Core.
Desired Skills:
Excellent technical documentation, diagramming (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io), and presentation skills.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and customer-facing communication abilities.
Ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments with global stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 12-15 years in telecom, with strong focus on 4G/5G RAN product development, solution architecture, or pre-sales engineering. Prior experience at Tier-1/New age vendors or operators is a strong plus.
Education: B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
Diversity and Inclusion Statement:
Tejas Networks is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating all-inclusive environment for all employees.
We welcome applicants of all backgrounds regardless of race color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or veteran status.
Our goal is to build a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve and to ensure every employee feels valued and respected.
