Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and validation of advanced electrical and electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on engineering expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive complex projects from concept through production.
This role will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineering, firmware, software, systems engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical architecture, circuit design, and system-level development for new products.
Design, review, and validate analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal electronics.
Develop schematics, PCB layouts, electrical interfaces, and design documentation.
Perform electrical analysis, simulations, debugging, and root-cause investigations.
Lead board bring-up, hardware validation, testing, and troubleshooting.
Define electrical requirements, specifications, and verification plans.
Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, software, systems, and manufacturing teams.
Support component selection, vendor evaluation, and design-for-manufacturing activities.
Conduct design reviews and provide technical mentorship to other engineers.
Drive resolution of complex technical issues and make architecture-level engineering decisions.
Support regulatory compliance, reliability, safety, and production qualification.
Manage multiple projects and communicate technical status, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Typically 8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Strong experience with electrical circuit design and hardware development.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools.
Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads.
Demonstrated experience taking hardware from concept through prototype, validation, and production.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills.
Ability to independently lead complex technical projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-speed digital design, power electronics, embedded systems, or mixed-signal systems.
Experience with EMI/EMC, signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal considerations.
Experience with hardware/firmware integration.
Experience working with contract manufacturers and external suppliers.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
Experience in a fast-paced startup or advanced technology environment.
Core Competencies
Must-Haves:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
7+ years of electrical engineering experience (5+ with MS considered).
Strong Altium experience (or equivalent ECAD platform).
Demonstrated ownership of schematic capture and PCBA development.
Multi-layer PCB design experience.
Board bring-up and hardware validation experience.
Experience across the full product development lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with:
Ethernet (1000BASE-T1 strongly preferred)
CAN-FD
SPI, UART, I2C
Data acquisition systems
Control systems
MCU/MPU-based designs
Power electronics and power management circuits
