Electrical Project Engineer – High Voltage Substations
Location: Multiple US Locations - Hybrid (Relocation Assistance Available)

We're partnering with a leading employee-owned engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) consultancy that delivers critical infrastructure projects across the power and energy sector. With a long-standing reputation for delivering complex transmission and substation projects, our client is expanding its engineering team and is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer.

The Role
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in the delivery of high-voltage substation projects, working on projects up to 765kV. You'll provide technical leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities, and support projects from concept through detailed design and construction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead or support the engineering delivery of high-voltage substation projects.
Produce and review Protection & Control (P&C) design packages, including:
Protection relay schemes
One-line and three-line diagrams
AC/DC schematics
Relay and control panel wiring
Equipment wiring diagrams
Develop physical substation design packages, including:
Yard layouts
Grounding systems
Lightning protection
Control building layouts
Auxiliary AC/DC power systems
Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews.
Coordinate with clients, project managers, vendors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Support project schedules, budgets and technical delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the team.
Attend client meetings, design reviews and occasional site visits as required.

What We're Looking For
Preferred Experience
High-voltage substation design experience (Physical Design and/or Protection & Controls)
Experience leading engineering packages or acting as a technical lead
Utility, transmission or EPC project experience
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
QA/QC review experience
Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred
Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
5+ years of relevant engineering experience
Experience working on transmission or high-voltage substation projects
Strong understanding of engineering design standards and industry codes
