Role Summary
In this position you will drive the development and implementation of innovative design and manufacturing methodologies that enhance Rivian in house designed control units.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure Design for Excellence principles are integrated into all stages of the design and development process.
Drive Design for Excellence and be the resident expert in this area.
Drive continuous improvement in DFx methodologies, ensuring the latest best practices, tools and technologies are leveraged.
Establish PCBAs & Electronic Control Units manufacturability and assembly specifications towards feasibility and scalability.
Work with main stake holders in the completion of DFM, DFT and DFA optimizing designs for volume manufacturing of PCBAs and Control Units
Proactively Identify high risk areas in production and engineering design cycle.
Responsible to review BOMs,PCB panels, PCB stack up, with internal stake holders and contract manufacturers.
Identify, root cause and track issues and work with Design Engineers on necessary design changes through the production and vehicle launch process.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill and/or ability.
10+ years experience on PCBA Manufacturing Process
10+ years experience in electronics manufacturing focused in solving challenging issues through methodical problem solving techniques.
10+ years experience evaluating electronic components, packages and solder interconnects for low and high voltage applications.
Strong knowledge on PCBA materials properties and solder joint metallurgy.
Experience with CAD tools, PCBA/FPC layout review and design optimization.
Experience in the Failure Analysis of Electronic Modules.
Forward Thinking – Providing inputs on new or alternative and improved manufacturing test methods
Ability to lead and sustain supplier manufacturing test process to the higher standards.
Ability to travel as needed to CM locations.
Ability to work and communicate with cross functional teams.
Strong team player, drive to exceed expectations and meet deadlines.
Ability to manage ambiguity and create clarity, oversee multiple projects and make them better.
Experience working at CM (Contract Manufacturer) for high production rate of PCBAs.
Total Rewards
Full-time positions include base salary, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, and eligibility for equity.
