Uptime Solutions is looking for a Sr. Hardware Engineer Lead to join our team!
This is a great opportunity for an experienced hardware engineer who enjoys being hands-on technically while also providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to an engineering team.
In this role, you’ll help lead the design, development, testing, and support of embedded electronic products from concept through production. You’ll work across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Technical Support, and Operations to help turn ideas into reliable, manufacturable products, and keep those products performing in the field.
What you’ll be doing:
🔹 Lead embedded hardware design and development from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT and product release
🔹 Design and troubleshoot analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, sensor, wireless, and microcontroller-based systems
🔹 Lead prototype bring-up, validation, EMC testing, debugging, and root cause analysis
🔹 Support manufacturing, product improvements, engineering changes, and complex field issues
🔹 Partner with Supply Chain on component availability, obsolescence, alternate sourcing, and cost reduction
🔹 Support regulatory compliance and certifications, including FCC, CE, UL, EMC/EMI, and HazLoc
🔹 Provide technical direction, mentoring, prioritization, and organizational guidance to engineering team members
🔹 Help establish engineering best practices, cross-training, knowledge sharing, and accountability across the team
What we’re looking for:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
✔ 3–7 years of embedded hardware design and development experience
✔ Experience taking products from concept through production
✔ Strong analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design skills
✔ Experience with PCB design, microcontrollers, sensors, power supplies, and embedded systems
✔ Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
✔ Knowledge of Python, C, C++, and Linux systems
✔ Someone who can lead technically while still being willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work
We offer competitive compensation based on experience, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a retirement plan with company match, and paid time off.
If you’re an experienced hardware engineer ready to take on greater technical leadership while staying close to the design and development work, we’d love to hear from you!
