Responsibilities
As an Embedded Digital Hardware Engineer within the Strategic Sensors team in the Sensing, Guidance & Navigation (SG&N) organization, you will be part of a team that is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge new products that leverage advanced technologies, particularly for Inertial Sensor & Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on next-generation products and new technologies on a team dedicated to pioneering new solutions in sensing and navigation.
In this role, you will collaborate with fellow engineers and scientists to design, develop and implement embedded digital hardware solutions that enhance the performance and capabilities of our next-generation Inertial Sensor and new Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) solutions. You will work on New Product Development and R&D programs for new Resonator Fiber Optic Gyroscope (RFOG) technologies, along with providing ongoing support and enhancements for existing sensing and guidance products.
Key Responsibilities
Digital hardware systems design, development, testing and integration
Develop and integrate embedded hardware & software solutions, ensuring compatibility with Inertial sensors and RFOG technologies
Design and optimize FPGAs using VHDL
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in systems, software, and hardware engineering to integrate software and hardware components.
Testing and validating systems to meet performance, reliability and safety standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues throughout the design and production phases
Document design specifications, testing protocols, and results
Stay updated with the latest advancements in Embedded systems and FPGA technologies, incorporating best practices into the development process.
Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Proven experience in embedded systems and digital hardware design and development
WE VALUE
Knowledge of hardware design, schematics, and circuit design principles.
Experience in the design, development and integration of digital hardware solutions.
Proficiency in hardware description languages (e.g. VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog)
Experience with VHDL for FPGA solutions is ideal.
Experience in New Product Development, Early Phase and/or R&D projects is of value.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze complex systems.
Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.) is of value.
Familiarity with inertial sensors, gyroscopes, or related navigation and sensing technologies is a plus.
