Sr. Electrical Engineer - Schematic Capture & PCB Design
Location: Addison, Tx (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities
· Perform electronic circuit design and schematic capture for analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic circuits.
· Develop PCB layouts ensuring compliance with electrical, thermal, EMC/EMI, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
· Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to achieve robust product designs.
· Perform component selection, derating analysis, and obsolescence reviews.
· Support design reviews and implement engineering changes based on review feedback.
· Develop and execute hardware verification and validation activities.
· Create and maintain technical documentation including:
· Design documents
o Product drawings
o Engineering change documentation
o Test procedures
o Qualification test plans
o Qualification test reports
o Test summary reports
o Manufacturing support documentation
· Support prototype builds, debugging, board bring-up, and root cause analysis of hardware issues.
· Work closely with suppliers, fabrication houses, and contract manufacturers to ensure successful product realization.
· Participate in requirements analysis, risk assessments, and design verification activities.
· Ensure compliance with applicable industry and customer standards.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
· 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
· Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as:
o Altium Designer
o Cadence Allegro/OrCAD
o Mentor Graphics (expirable)
· Experience with multi-layer PCB design and signal integrity considerations.
· Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
· Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
· Experience using laboratory equipment including:
o Oscilloscopes
o Logic Analyzers
o Spectrum Analyzers
o Digital Multimeters
o Power Supplies
· Ability to produce and review technical documentation and engineering reports.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
