Salary: $130,000 - 170,000/year
This position allows for 3 days per week remote / work from home.
We are seeking a driven Senior Hardware Electrical Engineer to spearhead board- and system-level hardware design for our portfolio of high-reliability networking, industrial automation, and embedded connectivity solutions.
In this role, you will lead the hardware life cycle—from initial architecture and schematic capture to physical bring-up, regulatory compliance, and production. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams in software, mechanical engineering, product management, and manufacturing to deliver robust, cost-effective, and scalable hardware.
Responsibilities
Architect hardware solutions for modern embedded networking, telecom, and industrial automation platforms.
Translate product vision into detailed electrical specifications and high-level architecture.
Design complex digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power management circuitry.
Select key technology components including SoCs, processors, FPGAs, power regulators, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
Execute schematic capture using industry-standard EDA tools.
Design and validate microprocessor/SoC systems built for Embedded Linux or RTOS environments.
Implement high-speed digital buses and interfaces (DDR, Ethernet, PCIe, USB, SERDES, SPI, I²C, UART).
Develop specialized communication interfaces (Ethernet, fiber, industrial networking, RF/wireless).
Design switching power supplies, point-of-load (POL) converters, and power management units.
Perform signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), thermal, and timing simulations/analyses.
Guide hardware builds from early-stage concepts through mass production.
Work alongside PCB layout engineers to define layer stack-ups, controlled impedance, routing rules, and component placement.
Direct prototype bring-up, validation testing, pilot runs, and manufacturing hand-off.
Lead root-cause failure analysis, component lifecycle management, and cost-optimization efforts.
Build comprehensive design verification and test plans (DVT/EVT).
Conduct system integration, hardware characterization, and bench testing.
Ensure designs conform to UL, CE, FCC, EMC, and relevant industry standards.
Serve as the principal technical owner on key engineering programs.
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level hardware engineers.
Drive peer design reviews, continuously refining team best practices and development standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering (BSCE), or a related technical field.
8+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design.
Proven history of taking complex electronic products from concept through full production.
Deep expertise in digital, mixed-signal, and power supply design.
Strong background with ARM/SoC architectures, high-speed DDR memory, and Ethernet hardware integration.
Expert-level bench debugging skills and proficiency with modern schematic capture tools.
Strong ability to balance multiple technical projects in a fast-paced environment with exceptional communication skills.
