Scope of Role
The Sr. CAD Engineer is responsible for generating CATIA V5 Body Engineering CAD concepts/ solutions for ongoing and new projects for Safety and Restraints

Area of Responsibility:

This position is responsible for creation of CAD geometry and Drawings in support of various Safety and Restraints
Responsible for the design and development of-
Seat belts, Child Restraints, Knee Airbag, Passenger Airbag, Side airbag, Curtain Airbags, etc.
Check Interior Head Impact and Ejection Mitigation and Human Machine Interface.
Check process constrains (tool access, assembly steps) based on guidelines
Create assembly models and skeleton using Catia V5/V6
Good knowledge of CAD Methodology and best practices for Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting & Kinematics.
Ensure data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in time
Provide CAD support, leading and progressing the design in line with the program timescales and deliverable cadence
Ability to check and manage clearance to interface parts.
Ensure manufacturing feasibility of parts.
Ensuring issues that cannot be resolved are escalated to Lead Engineer
Ensuring that the all-project deliverables are met on time.

Essential:
Extensive experience in using CATIA V5 & V6. Catia V6 is most preferred.
Good all round design skills which must include experience of working on at least one of Safety and Restraints System. (Seat belts, Child Restraints, Knee Airbag, Passenger Airbag, Side airbag, Curtain Airbags, Interior Head Impact, Ejection Mitigation) project.
Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector.
Team Centre Engineering (TCE) / Enovia experience
Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.

Skills:
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, adapting style to suit different audiences, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
Demonstrates and fosters a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals.
In depth knowledge of Safety and Restraints System.
CAD Literacy: Ability to generate CAD data and Master sections in CATIA V5/V6
PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc
Analytical, logical, and critical thinking ability.
