SENIOR DDR VALIDATION ENGINEER
The Role
As a Senior DDR Validation Engineer, you will be part of a team driving and improving AMD's ability to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The DDR Validation Engineering team fosters continuous technical innovation to showcase successes and facilitate ongoing career development. This role focuses on DDR functional validation, including debug and feature enablement across AMD's server platform portfolio.
The Person
A successful candidate is someone who can meaningfully impact technical validation efforts and drive completeness across assignments critical to project success. This role provides broad opportunity to contribute to server platform validation objectives. We are looking for someone eager to learn, grow, and make a positive impact. A background in DDR technology and memory subsystem validation is helpful.
Key Responsibilities
Validation of DDR features and functionality across the server product line
Debugging issues found during pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SoC programs
Collaborating closely with cross-functional technical teams including design, architecture, and software
Engaging with hardware and software modeling frameworks to broaden validation coverage
Driving technical innovation to improve AMD's validation capabilities, including tool and script development, methodology enhancement, and cross-functional technical initiatives
Preferred Experience
Programming and scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Python, Perl, Ruby)
Familiarity with DDR protocols, memory subsystem architecture, and validation methodology
Debug experience using common lab equipment such as protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes
Experience with board and platform-level debug
Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug strategy, and validation planning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with pronounced attention to detail
Self-starter who can independently drive tasks to completion
Academic Credentials
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable discipline
