This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale healthcare technology systems that directly support critical services for millions of users. You will work on the design, development, and optimization of batch processing solutions within complex UNIX/Linux environments, leveraging C programming and relational databases. Accountabilities
Participate in requirements gathering sessions and contribute to the creation of detailed functional specifications and design documents aligned with business needs.
Estimate development effort and provide technical justification for assigned tasks and project components.
Design, code, test, debug, implement, and document moderately complex to complex batch processing programs and applications.
Develop and maintain efficient batch jobs, automation processes, and notification services in a UNIX/Linux environment.
Conduct peer code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
Analyze existing systems and applications to identify opportunities for optimization, enhancement, and improved performance.
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to validate requirements, provide technical consulting, and resolve development issues.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced developers within the team.
Requirements
6+ years of experience in application development projects.
4+ years of experience in C programming, including strong proficiency in Pro*C.
4+ years of experience working in UNIX or Linux environments.
4+ years of experience working with relational databases and SQL-based development.
Strong expertise in batch development, job scheduling, automation, and notification services.
Experience creating technical documentation, including specifications and design documents, with familiarity in UML diagrams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex systems.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team.
Healthcare or Medicaid industry experience is preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
