Aquent is thrilled to partner with a leading global technology innovator, a company at the forefront of shaping the future of consumer electronics. This visionary organization is seeking a designer to revolutionize how users engage with its groundbreaking hardware products in physical environments. As a pivotal contributor, you will redefine the retail experience, crafting immersive spaces that captivate audiences and bring compelling brand narratives to life. In this pivotal role, you will stand at the forefront of designing compelling physical environments, innovative architectural layouts, and structural fixtures that exquisitely showcase a diverse range of hardware products across various retail settings. Your creative vision will directly influence how consumers interact with groundbreaking technology, leaving an indelible mark on their experience and contributing significantly to the company’s market presence and brand perception.
This role calls for a unique synergy of environmental design, architectural expertise, and a profound understanding of consumer technology. You will masterfully translate 2D brand systems and intricate consumer journey frameworks into functional, high-impact 3D physical spaces, meticulously ensuring that every footprint, fixture, and material selection adheres to premium aesthetic and sustainability standards.
What You’ll Do
Develop comprehensive spatial concepts, floor plans, and custom fixture designs for high-profile retail environments, flagship locations, and scaled retail footprints.
Produce photorealistic 3D models, detailed renderings, and spatial fly-throughs to clearly convey spatial intent, lighting, and finish choices to key stakeholders.
Select and document physical materials, lighting systems, and manufacturing finishes that meet premium quality standards and sustainability guidelines.
Partner with Experience Strategists to optimize customer traffic flow, and collaborate closely with Graphic Designers to seamlessly embed 2D brand identity into 3D structures.
Author rigorous design intent documents, technical plan views, and elevation drawings for external fabrication and build vendors.
Evaluate physical prototypes, material swatches, and full-scale mockups to ensure vendor execution aligns precisely with spatial design specifications.
Must-Have Qualifications
Expert-level proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering tools (e.g., Rhino, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Vectorworks, KeyShot, or V-Ray).
Strong background using Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and standard productivity suite tools.
Deep understanding of architectural constraints, retail fixture manufacturing, material properties, lighting design, and ergonomics/traffic flow.
Experience collaborating with fabricators, production partners, and external agencies to bring physical retail designs to life.
