JOB SUMMARY
In this full-time position, you’ll support the design and optimization of standard and bespoke solutions for oil and gas operations, primarily focused on ROV tooling and subsea assets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advanced 3D modeling, back-modeling standard components, complex assembly creation, and detailed drafting of subsea assets using SolidWorks in collaborative design environments
Lead and/or participate in design reviews, prototyping, and testing phases for designed tooling, assemblies
Collaboration with cross-functional team to develop tooling solutions that effectively balance manufacturing feasibility and operational/field usability
Support engineering processes and maintain version-controlled CAD files and BOMs in cloud-based platforms
Support the development of testing, and operational procedures
Stay updated on emerging subsea technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
SolidWorks Proficiency: Advanced to expert level in SolidWorks (CSWA, CSWP, or CSWE certification strongly preferred). Must be highly skilled in complex part modeling, large assemblies, configurations, design tables, detailed 2D drawings with GD&T, and creating manufacturing-ready documentation.
Mechanical Design Experience: 5+ years of professional experience designing mechanical tooling, equipment, or machinery — preferably in subsea, offshore, marine, oil & gas, or other harsh-environment applications (ROV tools, hydraulic systems, wellhead intervention equipment, etc.)
Subsea / ROV Tooling Knowledge: Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of subsea intervention tools, ROV interfaces (e.g., API 17H/17D), hydraulics systems, and deepwater equipment design challenges
Simulation & Analysis: Experience using SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) for structural and pressure analysis. Basic understanding of fatigue and load cases is a plus (preferred)
Hydraulics & Mechanisms: Practical understanding of hydraulic actuators, high-pressure components, and integration with work-class ROV systems (preferred)
Documentation Skills: Strong ability to produce clear manufacturing drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Proven ability to work with fabricators, ROV operators, offshore teams, and project stakeholders. Must be a strong problem-solver who can iterate designs quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and client-facing skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings
Proficiency with project tracking tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and Smartsheet
Experience with offshore service companies and intervention tooling
Familiarity with supply chain coordination and vendor management
