Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a SolidWorks Designer based in Manesar, focused on designing fixtures, jigs, and sheet metal tables. The role involves creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks, ensuring designs meet functional, safety, and manufacturability requirements. The designer will collaborate closely with production, quality, and project teams to refine concepts, resolve design issues, and support prototyping and trials. Daily tasks include updating design revisions, preparing BOMs, coordinating with vendors for manufacturability feedback, and maintaining accurate design documentation. The role also includes continuous improvement of existing designs, adherence to company design standards, and contribution to cost-effective and efficient engineering solutions.
Qualifications

Strong SolidWorks proficiency with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing fixtures, jigs, and sheet metal components or tables.
Ability to apply user-centered and problem-solving approaches using Design Thinking and User Experience (UX) principles where relevant to industrial and tooling design.
Skills in Visual Design and Interaction Design to clearly represent mechanisms, movements, and user interactions within tools and equipment.
Capability in Instructional Design to create clear assembly drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation for manufacturing and operations teams.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., fabrication, machining, welding, sheet metal forming) and GD&T, with the ability to design for manufacturability and ease of assembly.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency in preparing engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation in accordance with industry standards.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot design and fitment issues on the shop floor.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
