Skyroot is building India's private orbital-class launch vehicles, and reliable software is core to how we test and qualify them before flight. We're looking for an experienced LabVIEW Software Verification Engineer to establish and lead an independent verification environment for our LabVIEW/cRIO-based Ground Checkout Systems and other avionics test systems.
In this role, you'll develop a deep understanding of complex LabVIEW-based Test Software — its architecture, execution flow, interfaces, and failure modes — so you can independently verify its behavior and drive root-cause analysis, separate from the team that builds it. You'll design and maintain automated verification infrastructure spanning test harnesses, virtual equipment/interface simulators, independent reference models, fault-injection mechanisms, timing analysis, and regression frameworks, using Python/C/C++ to build tooling that's reusable well beyond this one product.
We're looking for someone technically strong, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced aerospace environment — and who's excited to help shape Software Reliability Engineering (SRE) and verification practices across the organization as we scale.
What you'll do
LabVIEW / cRIO Product Understanding
Review and reverse-engineer complex LabVIEW VIs, VI hierarchies, state machines, and data flows to understand functional behavior, timing, and error handling
Build strong working knowledge of LabVIEW/cRIO-based Ground Checkout Systems and their hardware/software interfaces
Debug LabVIEW applications and investigate failures to support systematic root-cause analysis
Independent Verification
Develop verification strategies and test cases covering nominal behavior, boundary conditions, negative scenarios, timing, and fault conditions
Establish requirement-to-test-to-result traceability using ALM and configuration management tools
Verify software behavior independently of the Design team's development work
Verification Infrastructure & Automation
Design and maintain automated test harnesses, equipment/interface simulators, and independent reference models
Build fault-injection, diagnostic, and timing-analysis tools to support robustness and performance testing
Develop reusable, product-independent verification tooling in Python/C/C++ and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Establish regression-test frameworks for repeatable verification across software releases
Reliability, Quality & Collaboration
Contribute to and continuously improve SRE, verification, and software quality practices across the organization
Participate in architecture, design, and verification reviews from a reliability and testability lens
Support release qualification with well-documented, traceable verification evidence
Partner closely with Design, Embedded, FPGA, Electronics, and Systems teams, and mentor junior engineers in verification methodology
What you bring
3+ years of experience in LabVIEW software development, testing, verification, or automated test-system development
Strong hands-on LabVIEW programming and debugging skills; solid understanding of VI architecture, dataflow programming, state machines, event-driven and producer-consumer design, and error handling
Hands-on experience with NI cRIO/LabVIEW Real-Time is highly desirable
Experience building automated test systems, test benches, ATE, or HIL setups
Working knowledge of Python; experience with C/C++ is an advantage
Familiarity with SDLC, verification methodologies, version control (Git), and requirements/configuration management
Strong analytical, root-cause-analysis, and communication skills; self-motivated and able to work independently
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (CSE/ECE/EEE/Instrumentation/Aerospace or related discipline)
Nice to have
NI certifications (CLAD/CLD/CLA) or equivalent experience
Experience with NI TestStand, LabVIEW Real-Time/cRIO FPGA, or HIL/ATE systems
Experience with fault injection, reference-model development, or timing/performance analysis of real-time systems
Familiarity with communication interfaces such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, serial, CAN, or RS-422/485
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and ALM tools (e.g., Polarion)
Background in aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or other safety/reliability-critical domains
Exposure to standards such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, or equivalent software assurance practices
