What To Expect
As a Software QA Engineer on the Update Systems team, you will ensure the quality and reliability of Tesla's over-the-air (OTA) update systems that deliver critical improvements to millions of vehicles worldwide. You'll design comprehensive test strategies, develop automated tests, and validate that every OTA update meets Tesla's high standards for reliability and performance. Your work will directly impact the customer experience as you help maintain the seamless delivery of features and enhancements to Tesla's global fleet.
What You'll Do
Develop detailed test plans to validate Tesla's over the air updates and bootloaders and enhance testing strategies
Design and implement test scripts to automate validation workflows
Optimize automation pipelines and integrate into daily/weekly reporting
Validate the functionality and performance of over the air updates and bootloaders
Investigate field-reported issues and perform root-cause analysis
Execute functional and regression testing for release validation and triage results
What You'll Bring
Experience in software testing, automation scripting (Python, Golang, or similar), and test framework design
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot complex system interactions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering teams

Expected Compensation
$113,424 - $368,628/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
