Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Physical Design Engineer to be part of our VLSI design team. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end physical design activities, ensuring high-quality implementation from netlist to GDSII, meeting timing, power, and area requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform full-chip/block-level physical design implementation including:
Floorplanning
Placement
Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS)
Routing
Timing closure
Work on design optimization for performance, power, and area (PPA).
Handle static timing analysis (STA) and fix timing violations (setup/hold).
Perform physical verification tasks such as DRC, LVS, and ERC checks.
Analyze and mitigate congestion, IR drop, and electromigration issues.
Collaborate with RTL, front-end, and verification teams to resolve design issues.
Ensure design meets sign-off requirements and tape-out schedules.
Debug and resolve design issues using industry-standard EDA tools.
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of VLSI physical design flow.
Experience with tools such as:
Cadence (Innovus, Tempus)
Synopsys (ICC2, PrimeTime)
Good knowledge of:
Timing closure techniques
Signal integrity and power integrity concepts
Design rules and technology nodes (e.g., 7nm, 14nm, etc.)
Familiarity with scripting languages like Tcl/Perl/Python.
Knowledge of UPF/low-power design concepts is an added advantage.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
