eNGINE builds Technical Teams. We are a Solutions and Placement firm shaped by decades of interaction with Technical professionals. Our inspiration is continuous learning and engagement with the markets we serve, the talent we represent, and the teams we build. Our Consulting Workforce is encouraged to enjoy career fulfillment in the form of challenging projects, schedule flexibility, and paid training/certifications. Successful outcomes start and finish with eNGINE.
eNGINE is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-velocity platform engineering team focused on AI-driven automation. The successful candidate will design, build, and ship production-grade systems that leverage large language models (LLMs) to accelerate complex operational workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring both strong software fundamentals and a demonstrated ability to apply AI tooling across the full development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and deliver AI-augmented microservices and automation pipelines from inception through production deployment.
Design and implement LLM-powered workflows, including document intelligence applications (e.g., structured data extraction from PDFs, emails, and fax documents).
Define and enforce CI/CD pipeline standards encompassing build, linting, unit testing, code coverage enforcement, security scanning, integration testing, and deployment gates.
Evaluate and introduce AI development tools (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.) and provide actionable recommendations on where automation adds — and does not add — meaningful value.
Collaborate with operations, compliance, and domain stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into precise, reliable technical implementations.
Uphold code quality standards including minimum 90%+ unit test code coverage and peer review practices.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated ownership of at least one project taken from initial requirements through production deployment, including infrastructure and release pipeline.
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservice architectures; familiarity with containerization and cloud deployment patterns.
Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python; comfort working across the stack as the project demands.
Practical, hands-on experience with one or more AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, ChatGPT, or equivalent) in a professional setting.
Working knowledge of LLM integration patterns, prompt engineering, and the appropriate design of AI agent workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience applying LLMs to document understanding or data validation use cases in a production context.
Familiarity with rate management, financial operations workflows, or reconciliation systems.
Contributions to internal developer tooling, automation frameworks, or platform engineering initiatives.
Experience configuring AI agent behavior via structured instruction files (e.g., CLAUDE.md or equivalent).
No C2C, relocation, referral, or sponsorship candidates for this role.
