About the Opportunity
Oscar Faye is partnering with a global alternative asset manager to hire a Software Engineer for their Alternative Lending Technology team. The firm operates across traditional and alternative asset classes — including consumer lending, structured investments, and Bitcoin infrastructure — and is in the process of embedding AI across every layer of its business. The engineering bar is high, ownership is real, and the work directly impacts how capital is deployed and priced.
The Role
You will build the models, tools, and data infrastructure that power trading, portfolio management, underwriting oversight, and daily NAV pricing on the Alternative Lending desk. This is a hands-on engineering role with direct exposure to portfolio managers, credit research, fixed-income operations, and structured investments teams. The work is financial infrastructure with real stakes - not internal tooling, not maintenance work.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain models and tools that support trading, portfolio management, and underwriting oversight on the Alternative Lending desk
Automate data pipelines and contribute to monthly and executive reporting infrastructure
Support daily pricing processes, including delivering prices used to strike NAV
Collaborate with DevOps on building and deploying production systems
Work directly with the Analytics Team and Operations Tech on cross-functional data needs
What We're Looking For
7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a track record of delivering end-to-end solutions via scalable, reusable frameworks
Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#
Strong data infrastructure fundamentals and coding best practices
Hands-on experience with AI technologies - LLMs, agents, or AI-assisted development
Financial services or alternative investments background is a plus
Collaborative, ownership-oriented mindset - comfortable operating with autonomy
What We're Not Looking For
Engineers who need heavy direction or narrowly scoped tickets
Candidates with surface-level AI exposure who haven't shipped production systems
Profiles without demonstrated ability to work across functional teams
Why This Role Stands Out
Sit at the center of an AI-first transformation at a well-capitalized, multi-vertical alternative asset manager
Direct exposure to consumer lending, HELOC, structured investments, and Bitcoin infrastructure data
High-autonomy environment - you own what you build
NYC-based team with strong engineering culture and cross-functional visibility
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, starting at $350K all-in
