Monty is building an AI-powered property management platform for modern condos, HOAs, and multifamily communities. The product brings together payments, maintenance requests, packages, documents, announcements, resident communication, and AI-assisted support into one cleaner operating system for property managers and residents.
We are looking for a hands-on software engineer to work directly with the founders across the core platform. This is not a traditional ticket-taking engineering role. You will help rapidly build, test, debug, and improve a real product using modern AI-native development tools including Lovable, Rork, Claude Code, Supabase, and related infrastructure. The ideal person is comfortable moving quickly, understands how software works under the hood, and can bring sound engineering judgment to an AI-assisted build process.
What you will do
• Build and improve features across Monty's web and mobile products.
• Work with Lovable, Rork, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Help structure and maintain Supabase, including database schema, auth, permissions, storage, and backend logic.
• Debug frontend, backend, API, database, and AI-generated code issues.
• Build and QA user flows for property managers, residents, board members, and vendors.
• Help integrate third-party services for payments, notifications, documents, and support workflows.
• Improve performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Translate product ideas into working software quickly.
• Bring pragmatic engineering discipline to a fast-moving founder-led build.
What we are looking for
• 2 to 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong comfort with TypeScript and modern web/mobile app development.
• Experience with React, React Native, Expo, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with cloud databases, ideally Supabase, Postgres, Firebase, or similar.
• Comfort working with APIs, authentication, permissions, and data models.
• Experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development workflows.
• Ability to debug generated code rather than blindly trusting it.
• Product-minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in ambiguity.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work directly with a non-traditional but highly technical founder.
• NYC preferred, but open to strong candidates anywhere in the U.S.
Nice to have
• Supabase and Postgres experience.
• Row level security, auth, and permissions experience.
• React Native, Expo, or mobile app development experience.
• Experience with Lovable, Rork, Cursor, Claude Code, Replit, Bolt, or similar AI coding tools.
• Experience with payments, fintech, property management, SaaS, or marketplace workflows.
• Familiarity with QA automation, Playwright, Sentry, CI/CD, or app monitoring.
• Comfort working in early-stage or founder-led environments.
Target base compensation is $90,000 to $110,000. Eligible for bonus and benefits,
