Your goal is to maintain a Change Failure Rate of <1.5% and help us reach a state of fewer than 2 Sev-1 incidents per quarter.The AI-Fluent Architect (High Velocity): You are already using AI tools to 10x your own productivity. You leverage these tools to drive a cycle time of <4 hours and maintain a high frequency of daily deployments, moving code from commit to production with total confidence.
The Data-Informed Engineer (Economic Discipline): You care about the “why” behind the code. You understand that latency and cloud spend are engineering disciplines, and you optimize your infrastructure so that our cost-per-order remains predictable as we scale.
The Proactive Collaborator (Security & Governance): You thrive in a cross-functional environment (Eng, Data, DevOps, Security). You take ownership of the “Golden Path,” ensuring 100% of your repositories are gated and that zero critical vulnerabilities ever reach our production environment.
YOUR SPECIFIC MANDATE
In This Role, You Will Be Directly Responsible For
AI-Native Velocity: Drive high-velocity iOS development by leveraging tools like Cursor, Gemini, Codex and Claude to accelerate feature delivery in Swift, while focusing engineering effort on system design, edge-case handling, and polished user experiences.
Unbreakable Mobile Architecture: Design robust iOS applications that ensure consistent behavior across devices, OS versions, and backend dependencies, embedding resilience through structured error handling, retries, and graceful fallbacks.
Performance & App Health Ownership: Own application performance as a core engineering discipline—optimize for launch time, UI responsiveness, memory efficiency, and crash reduction, ensuring high reliability at scale.
End-to-End Golden Path Ownership: Drive features from design to App Store release, ensuring high-quality implementations, strong release discipline, low regression rates, and predictable delivery cycles.
API & Service Integration Excellence: Build clean, reliable integrations with backend services, ensuring robust data handling, version compatibility, and resilience to partial failures and inconsistent responses.
Release Systems & Observability: Strengthen release confidence through CI/CD pipelines, monitoring (Crashlytics, logs), and controlled rollout strategies, proactively identifying and resolving production issues.
Scalability & Maintainability: Continuously improve application architecture using modular design, MVVM, and clean architecture principles, ensuring long-term scalability and ease of evolution.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Contribute to architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Backend, Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Core Engineering Excellence: Apply strong fundamentals in iOS internals, multithreading, memory management, and debugging, ensuring robust and efficient implementations.
