My client, a highly regarded global hedge fund, is seeking a Software Developer to join its New York office.
This is a unique opportunity to join a lean, high-impact team working closely with investment, risk, and operations professionals to build and maintain critical systems that support trading, data management, and portfolio operations across a fixed income platform.
In this role, you will contribute to a broad technology stack spanning analytics, data infrastructure, and front-office tooling. You will play a key part in enhancing internal applications, improving data workflows, and supporting trading and operational processes across the firm.
You’ll be joining an environment that values ownership, technical curiosity, and the ability to deliver practical, high-quality solutions within a collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain core applications supporting trading, data, and operational workflows
Work across a multi-language technology stack including Python, SQL, and C++
Build and enhance data pipelines, integrating external vendor and internal data sources
Support and improve internal web-based tools used across the business
Manage market data and security master systems
Contribute to trading connectivity and FIX-based workflows
Assist with reporting and data integration into downstream systems
Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, risk, and operations to deliver effective solutions
Requirements:
2–5 years of experience in a software development role
Strong programming skills in Python
Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. stored procedures, optimisation)
Familiarity with Excel/VBA
Understanding of data workflows and system integration
Exposure to web technologies is beneficial but not essential
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a small team
Good communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
