The Opportunity

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Virtual Platform / Simulation Engineer to join our Systems / Pre-Silicon Engineering team. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in QEMU-based simulation, C programming, SystemC/TLM modeling, Operating System concepts, and Synopsys Virtualizer. This role involves developing virtual platforms and simulation environments that enable early software development, validation, and debugging before silicon availability.

Key Responsibilities

Virtual Platform Development
Develop, customize, and maintain QEMU-based virtual platforms for SoC architectures.
Create and enhance machine models, device models, and peripheral emulation.
Integrate hardware components within simulation environments.
Virtual Prototyping & Modeling
Build and validate virtual prototypes using Synopsys Virtualizer.
Model hardware functionality using SystemC/TLM.
Support both functional and performance-oriented simulations.
Software Enablement & Bring-Up
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to facilitate early software development.
Enable Linux/RTOS bring-up on virtual platforms.
Support boot flow validation and software integration activities.
Debugging & Validation
Debug issues related to:
Boot sequences
Device drivers
Memory management
Interrupt handling
OS-level interactions
Analyze and resolve simulation and platform-related issues.
Development & Automation
Develop and maintain C-based test cases, drivers, and model code.
Support CI/CD integration and regression automation for simulation environments.
Create scripts and tools to improve platform development efficiency.
Documentation
Document simulation models, platform configurations, usage guidelines, and known issues.
Maintain technical documentation for future reference and team collaboration.
Experience

Required Skills & Qualifications

3 to 6 years of industry experience in:
Virtual Prototyping
Embedded Systems
Simulation Engineering
Pre-Silicon Validation
Technical Skills

QEMU

Strong hands-on experience with:
Machine model development
Device emulation
Platform customization
Debugging and performance analysis
Programming

Strong proficiency in C Programming.
Experience with low-level hardware interaction and memory-mapped programming.

SystemC

Working knowledge of:
SystemC modules
TLM (Transaction-Level Modeling)
Simulation kernel concepts
Operating Systems

Strong understanding of:
Process and thread management
Memory management
Interrupts and exception handling
Device drivers
Boot architecture and startup sequence
Virtual Prototyping Tools

Hands-on experience with Synopsys Virtualizer.
Experience with virtual platform development and integration.

SoC & Hardware Knowledge

Understanding of:
SoC architecture
AMBA protocols
AXI/APB bus interfaces
Peripheral integration and modeling
Preferred Skills

Linux or RTOS bring-up experience.
Python scripting for automation and tooling.
Experience with debugging tools such as:
GDB
JTAG
Hardware/Software debuggers
Knowledge of:
ARM Architecture
RISC-V Architecture
Experience in Semiconductor, Embedded, or Product Development companies.
Educational Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in:
Computer Science Engineering
Electronics & Communication Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Embedded Systems
Or a related technical discipline
