The Role
As a Silicon Design Engineer, you will collaborate with RTL and Verification engineers to improve existing engineering workflows and design new tools and processes. Your work will focus on increasing productivity, reliability, and scalability across design, build, simulation, and release environments.
This role emphasizes automation, maintainable tooling, and continuous improvement of engineering systems that support silicon development.
The Person
You bring experience or strong interest in automation and developer productivity. You approach complex technical systems methodically, identify inefficiencies, and contribute practical solutions. You work effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams and communicate technical information clearly through code, documentation, and collaboration.
You are open to learning new tools, technologies, and workflows as projects evolve, and you contribute to a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, test, monitor, and maintain toolchains that support critical engineering workflows
Collaborate with RTL and Verification teams to improve build, simulation, and release processes
Develop and maintain automation to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of engineering efforts
Identify recurring issues or bottlenecks in existing systems and contribute to scalable, well-documented solutions
Support the reliability and maintainability of internal tools through debugging, monitoring, and process improvements
Preferred Experience
Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Shell, Perl, Java, Groovy, Ruby, or similar)
Experience with object-oriented programming concepts
Familiarity with automating, monitoring, and debugging routine engineering tasks
Experience working with databases and SQL, or demonstrated ability to learn database concepts
Experience with continuous integration systems and version control tools such as Perforce or GitHub
Ability to organize work effectively, manage competing priorities, and communicate progress and issues clearly
Experience with ASIC design or verification tools, languages, and flows is a plus, but not required
Academic Credentials
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
