Piper Companies is seeking a Signal Integrity Engineer in RTP NC, to join an organization within the electrical and electronic interconnect manufacturing industry with up to 30% travel in the U.S. The Signal Integrity Engineer will be a hands-on technical leader focused on system-level SerDes bring-up for cable and backplane designs, combining deep technical expertise with team leadership and global factory engagement.
Responsibilities of the Signal Integrity Engineer:
Lead ownership of high‑speed electrical validation activities including eye analysis, jitter measurements, BERT testing, TDR, and VNA evaluations.
Create, execute, and document engineering and design validation test plans to ensure product performance and compliance.
Partner closely with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and customer teams to resolve performance issues and support product releases.
Design and enhance high‑speed test platforms and methodologies aligned with future product and technology roadmaps.
Investigate test failures, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to improve overall signal integrity performance.
Qualifications of the Signal Integrity Engineer:
Bachelor's in electrical engineering; Masters preferred.
8–10 years of signal integrity engineering experience with system-level SerDes bring-up.
Engineering management experience.
Strong background in Signal Integrity Engineering, electromagnetic simulations, and S-parameters.
Experience with high-speed cables, backplanes, or interconnect systems.
Proficiency with SI simulation and measurement tools (IBIS-AMI, HFSS/CST, TDR, VNA, BERT).
Willingness to travel internationally.
Compensation for the Signal Integrity Engineer includes:
Salary range: $170,000 - $195,000
Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, sick leave if required by law, and holidays
