We are looking for a Sr. Test Engineer to join our team supporting our government customer located in the Washington DC metro area. This is an onsite work opportunity. U.S. Citizenship required. This is a 1 year project. What You'll BringMinimum 8 years experience developing automated test suites using Cucumber (BDD) with Selenium and/or PlaywrightBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study. Experience testing applications based on user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability to requirementsHands-on experience with manual testing, including functional, integration, and exploratory testingExperience supporting regression testing and release verification in Agile environmentsExperience with Azure applications; Azure DevOps toolsFamiliarity with test documentation, defect tracking, and audit-ready deliverables in regulated environmentsUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processesWhat You'll DoDesign, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Cucumber and Selenium, with opportunities to support modernization efforts leveraging PlaywrightExecute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate system performance and reliabilityEnsure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects, supporting compliance with federal standards and contract requirementsCollaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to refine requirements, define acceptance criteria, and identify test scenarios early in the SDLCDocument test results, defects, and test artifacts to support audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirementsParticipate in release planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous improvement of QA processesSupport risk identification and mitigation related to software quality and system performancePreferred QualificationsExperience supporting federal or government contracting environmentsFamiliarity with FAR/DFARS, NIST, or other federal compliance frameworksExposure to CMMI, ISO, or similar quality standardsExperience working in DevSecOps environments with a focus on secure and compliant software deliveryWhy Join UsContribute to mission-driven programs that support federal agencies and public sector initiativesWork within a structured environment that values quality, compliance, and accountabilityOpportunities to modernize testing practices and expand automation capabilitiesCollaborative team culture with a focus on continuous improvement and professional growthSynectics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
