The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for leading a team focused on the architecture, development, implementation, and sustainment of production final test systems and Quality Information System (QIS) platforms. This role serves as the system owner for software test applications, API services, and database interactions while ensuring alignment with testing requirements and manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Design, Quality, and Operations teams to support new product introductions (NPI), improve production stability, drive root cause investigations, and enhance data integrity across all test and calibration processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and supervise test engineers, process engineers, and PCBA support personnel.
Promote a culture centered on continuous improvement, accountability, teamwork, and structured problem-solving.
Conduct performance reviews, establish development goals, and support employee growth and training initiatives.
Prioritize and allocate engineering resources across NPI, sustaining engineering, and production support activities.
Lead the design and implementation of automated RF, DC, and functional test systems.
Oversee software architecture and development for production floor applications, API services, and database systems.
Develop and integrate scalable test frameworks using structured architectural patterns.
Define and monitor KPIs using analytics tools such as Power BI to support yield improvement and real-time test monitoring.
Drive test optimization efforts through Design for Test (DFT) reviews, coverage validation, and root cause analysis.
Ensure cybersecurity compliance and data integrity across all software and test system assets.
Own final code merge approvals and release readiness decisions for production deployments.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to improve production performance and testing processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, Software Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development or test automation engineering.
Proven leadership experience with demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and delegate effectively.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within production or manufacturing environments.
Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
Hands-on experience developing and supporting test systems using:
C# (WinForms) for shop-floor applications
Python (FastAPI or similar) for API/service development
Strong understanding of test system architecture, including UI/API/database separation, controlled data flow, validation practices, and traceability standards.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with RF test systems and manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or similar compliance standards.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Knowledge of Power BI or similar data analytics platforms.
Experience with instrumentation control and automated test frameworks.
Understanding of RF circuit debugging, cable repair, and test fixture design.
Soldering experience is a plus.
