The role and responsibilities essentially include -
- Shall be responsible for complete internal and external project co-ordination till project completion.
- Shall be able to do detailed designs of switchyard and MV and HV system. Knowledge of EHV systems shall be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Protections applicable for MV & HV station feeders.
- Knowledge of Substation Engineering codes, Distribution & Transmission Utility Specifications and Standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.)
- Preparation and review of Switchyard layouts, erection key diagrams, clearance checks and other detail layout drawings for the AIS up to 220 kV. Knowledge of GIS substations will be an added advantage.
- Shall be conversant with MV Panels, Switchboard formations and SAS systems.
- Able to prepare complete Technical Specification/Request for Procurement documents as per project requirements.
Substation Earthing, Illumination, Direct Stroke Lightening Protection design and layouts for Switchyard and Main control room.
- Knowledge of Transmission line conductor sizing and Short circuit force calculation.
Power Cable (HV and LV) sizing & calculation; Control Cable sizing, Voltage drop calculations, length calculations and cable accessories selections.
- General Technical Parameters, Design Memorandum, Equipment sizing, Design Check lists,
and configuration for the MV & HV AIS equipment.
Sizing battery charger, CT - VT sizing with knee point voltage calculations, Auxiliary power transformers and aux power supply systems for switchyard.
- Able to understand scheme drawings for bay Monitoring Kiosks, Local Control cubicles, Control Panel & Relay panel schematics, BOQ and inter-cubicle cabling.
- Able to do draft pre-dispatch inspection and pre-commissioning test guidelines and review Quality Action Plans for all switchyard and substation equipment independently.
- Selection of Metering equipment, Bay Control Units, IEDs and associated interface equipment and be able to draft the guidelines for the same.
- Able to understand and prepare Software and Hardware interlocking drawing/ table/ logic diagram for different type of bay configurations.
- Follow the integrated management system (IMS) and know-how of ISO operational standards’ requirement set by the company.
- Knowledge of Inverter Duty Transformers used in Solar Plants, Solar Duty Power Transformers and Inter-connecting transformers shall be treated as an added advantage.
