Senior Staff Design Engineer - Analog / Mixed-Signal
Location: Woburn, MA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview
We are partnering with a top five global semiconductor company to hire a Senior Staff Design Engineer - Analog / Mixed-Signal to drive the design of advanced analog, mixed-signal, and/or RF circuits for state-of-the-art wireless and connectivity applications.
This is a hands-on IC design role where you will take designs from initial concept through silicon validation, working closely with architecture, layout, test, and other engineering teams to bring innovative wireless and connectivity solutions to market.
Key Responsibilities
Circuit Design: Design advanced analog, mixed-signal, and/or RF circuits for state-of-the-art wireless and connectivity applications.
Layout Implementation: Guide and review layout implementation in advanced technology nodes to achieve optimal performance, area, and reliability.
Performance & Debug: Analyze, debug, and optimize circuit performance using simulations and laboratory measurements.
Design Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design reports, and presentation materials for internal reviews.
Silicon Evaluation: Define experimental test procedures and characterize and evaluate silicon in the lab, interpreting results and driving design improvements.
Architecture & Technology Exploration: Support architecture investigations and technology explorations for future products and platforms.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with architecture, systems, layout, test, and product engineering teams to ensure successful tape-out and productization.
Required Skills & Experience
You have a Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a focus on integrated circuit design.
You have strong analysis, design, and debug skills for analog, mixed-signal, and/or RF circuits.
Previous tape-out experience is highly desirable.
You have a solid understanding of linear systems and signal processing.
A solid understanding of semiconductor device physics is highly desirable.
You have hands-on experience using lab equipment for silicon evaluation and debug.
You are proficient with computer-aided design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE, and MATLAB, or equivalent tools.
You have good interpersonal and communication skills and can work effectively within a collaborative, global engineering environment.
Additional Information
Advanced IC Design: Work directly on sophisticated analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuits for cutting-edge wireless and connectivity applications.
Concept to Silicon: Take designs through the development lifecycle, from initial design and simulation through layout, tape-out, and silicon evaluation.
Future Technology: Contribute to architecture investigations and technology exploration for future products and platforms.
Cross-Functional Impact: Collaborate closely with architecture, systems, layout, test, and product engineering teams to bring advanced designs into production.
This is a hands-on Senior Staff-level IC design role focused on analog, mixed-signal, and/or RF circuit development.
If you are passionate about advanced IC design and interested in working on cutting-edge wireless and connectivity technologies, we encourage you to apply.
