Senior Project Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing
About Us
We're partnering with a growing Aerospace & Defense manufacturer seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the development of complex mechanical hardware from concept through production. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role where you'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations to bring precision aerospace products to market. If you enjoy solving challenging mechanical design problems, owning products throughout their lifecycle, and collaborating across multiple disciplines, we'd love to speak with you.
What You'll Do
Lead customer-driven engineering projects from concept, design, prototyping, qualification, and production release
Develop CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation to support product development from concept through production
Partner directly with customers to define technical requirements, evaluate design concepts, and implement engineering changes
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers to improve manufacturability and support new product introduction
Perform engineering analysis, tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, prototype evaluation, testing, and design verification
Drive engineering change activity, root cause investigations, product improvements, and technical problem solving throughout the product lifecycle
Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams while supporting multiple concurrent development programs
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
8+ years of experience designing and developing complex mechanical mechanisms, precision mechanical assemblies, or other highly engineered mechanical products within a regulated manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical design background with experience taking products from concept through production
Experience working directly with customers on engineering changes, product modifications, and technical solutions
Proficiency with CAD software, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes
Experience supporting prototype development, qualification testing, and new product introduction (NPI)
Aerospace, defense, or other highly engineered manufacturing experience strongly preferred
