Senior Project Engineer – Converting / Film Manufacturing
Location – Wisconsin (On-Site)
Circa $120,000 – $150,000 Base Salary

The Opportunity
Join a leading packaging manufacturer as a Senior Project Engineer, playing a key role in delivering capital projects, driving process improvements, and supporting the continued evolution of a high-volume manufacturing site. This is a hands-on, technically driven position with ownership of full project lifecycles – from concept through installation, commissioning, and optimization – with a direct impact on plant performance, efficiency, and output.

Scope & Impact
Ownership of multiple concurrent capital and process improvement projects
Lead end-to-end project delivery (design → install → startup → optimization)
Direct influence on plant performance, uptime, and efficiency
Work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, CI, and Leadership
Key contributor to reducing downtime, scrap, and setup times

What You’ll Be Doing
Project Engineering & Execution
Lead capital equipment projects including specification, design, procurement, and installation
Process Improvement
Identify and implement solutions to improve reliability, quality, and throughput
Equipment & Systems Ownership
Support both new and existing converting and film manufacturing equipment
Startup & Commissioning
Oversee installation, validation, and ramp-up of new machinery and processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to deliver measurable improvements

What We’re Looking For
Experience
7–15+ years in project engineering within manufacturing (packaging, converting, plastics, or similar)
Strong background in blown film, converting, or web handling environments (highly preferred)
Proven experience delivering capital projects and equipment installations
Hands-on involvement with process optimization and CI initiatives
Experience working within high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environments

Skillset
Strong mechanical and process engineering capability
Experience with machine design (2D/3D CAD preferred)
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, uptime, and efficiency drivers
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment/process issues
Data-driven mindset with a focus on measurable improvements

Engineering Profile
Hands-on, floor-oriented engineer (not purely desk-based)
Comfortable working independently and owning projects end-to-end
Strong problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
Collaborative and able to influence across departments
Focused on delivering tangible operational results

Requirements added by the job poster
• 7+ years of experience in Manufacturing / Packaging / Converting
• 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering or Capital Projects
• Experience with film extrusion, converting, or web handling equipment preferred
• On-site presence required (5 days per week)
