Senior Product Development Engineer, RF Optics
Location: Hybrid in San Diego or Santa Clara, California

As demand for faster, more efficient optical communication continues to grow, the engineering organization is expanding its product development team with a senior technical contributor who can lead sophisticated optical hardware programs from concept through production.

Focus
Drive the engineering, innovation, and commercialization of next-generation high-bandwidth optical communication solutions from initial concept through production release.
Translate product requirements into robust electrical architectures and production ready hardware solutions.
Drive product ownership from concept development, prototype design, validation, qualification, manufacturing transition, and production support.
Design high speed PCB architectures while optimizing signal integrity, RF performance, power delivery, and overall system reliability.
Conduct circuit modeling and technical evaluations to validate design performance, assess engineering alternatives, and minimize product development challenges.
Develop PCB layouts utilizing Cadence and or Allegro design tools while collaborating closely with cross functional engineering teams.
Conduct laboratory characterization, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of complex electronic hardware.
Partner with manufacturing, operations, and program teams to ensure successful new product introduction and scalable production.
Provide advanced technical guidance across multiple engineering initiatives, solving complex design issues and driving successful project execution.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches that improve product performance and long term competitiveness.
Skill Set
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred. Advanced degree is a plus.
Demonstrated expertise creating and advancing high-performance optical transceiver technologies for demanding data transmission environments.
Deep expertise in Signal Integrity and RF engineering.
Demonstrated success owning products from concept through production.
Strong PCB layout experience.
Experience using Cadence and or Allegro PCB design tools.
Experience utilizing electrical simulation and modeling software.
Strong understanding of high speed communication systems and advanced electronic hardware design.
Proven ability to independently lead technically complex engineering efforts with minimal supervision.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading complex hardware development programs from early architecture through production release.
Comprehensive knowledge of high-bandwidth communication architectures and complex system-level engineering principles.
Experience supporting new product introduction and product commercialization.
Ability to provide technical leadership while remaining a hands on individual contributor.
