Title: Senior Power Electronics Control System Engineer - 121053

Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Power Electronics Control System Engineer for John Deere located in Fargo, ND, you will:

Develop and implement electric machine and power electronics control algorithms, with deployment on FPGA using a Register Transfer Level (RTL) design flow in SystemVerilog
Perform system-level modeling and simulation of control algorithms, and validation (HIL/lab/field) to ensure control performance
Collaborate with hardware, software, and system teams to deliver high-performance electric drive solutions
Mentor and guide engineers on control design, modeling, and validation best practices

What Skills You Need

5 years of experience in power electronics and/or electric machine design and control development
Demonstrated experience with simulation tools for power electronics or electric drives
3 years of hands-on testing experience (HIL, lab, or field validation)
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Relevant academic research experience will also be considered
Ability to travel up to 25% based on business needs

What Makes You Stand Out

Advanced degree with focus on power electronics or electric machines
Experience deploying control algorithms to FPGA or other embedded targets (MCU, DSP)
Experience with RTL design flow
Experience with power electronics hardware design or integration
Experience with advanced control techniques (e.g., observers, MPC, sensorless control)
Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on power electronics and/or electric machines. Advanced degree preferred
