Job Title: Senior PCB Layout (Cadence)
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 6+ Months
Workplace Type: Remote

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced PCB Layout Designer to support the development of complex, high-density circuit boards for advanced space, land, sea, and air vehicle systems, including platforms with rocket motors. This role will focus on the design and layout of 20- to 38-layer boards involving high-speed digital, RF, mixed-signal, and power applications.
Responsibilities
Design and lay out high-density, multilayer printed wiring boards (PWBs), printed circuit boards (PCBs), flex circuits, and rigid-flex assemblies.
Perform component placement and interconnect routing for complex electronic assemblies.
Calculate and develop board layer stack-ups based on engineering requirements, industry standards, and supplier capabilities.
Create drawings and electronic data packages required for fabrication and manufacturing.
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to address component placement, routing, mechanical fit, and packaging requirements.
Apply electrical and mechanical design principles—including impedance control, differential pairs, signal integrity, component orientation, and mechanical stress—to layout decisions.
Use Cadence Allegro Constraint Manager or similar tools to support constraint-driven PCB design.
Incorporate PCB/PWB change notices and maintain accurate design documentation.
Review layouts and drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with design requirements.
Support and lead design reviews involving engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
Ensure designs comply with applicable design-for-manufacturing (DFM) standards and industry specifications.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with high-speed PCB design and layout.
Experience designing high-density boards with approximately 20 to 38 layers.
Proficiency with Cadence Allegro and Allegro Constraint Manager or a comparable PCB design platform.
Experience creating PCB layer stack-ups for digital, RF, mixed-signal, and power-supply circuit card assemblies.
Strong understanding of impedance control, differential-pair routing, length matching, signal integrity, and constraint management.
Knowledge of PCB/PWB fabrication, manufacturing processes, and DFM requirements.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
Experience creating fabrication drawings and electronic manufacturing data packages.
Ability to collaborate effectively with electrical, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate and lead design reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience performing both electrical engineering and hands-on PCB layout work.
Experience supporting PCB designs for aerospace, defense, missile, or other high-reliability vehicle systems.
Familiarity with the mechanical and environmental considerations associated with rigid, flex, and rigid-flex assemblies.
Benefits:
Paid weekly!
Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
