Position Summary

Digital Dynamics Inc. is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager, Test Engineering to lead test strategy and execution from early product development through high-volume production.

This role is responsible for ensuring our PCBA and system-level products are testable, scalable, and production-ready. The Senior Manager will lead the development and deployment of automated production test systems, drive Design for Test (DFT), support NPI and manufacturing ramp, and improve test coverage, yield, throughput, and cost.

This is not a purely managerial role. The successful candidate will remain close to the technical work and provide hands-on support when needed while developing the team and partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and contract manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities

Own test strategy for PCBA and system-level products from concept through production.
Define test coverage based on product risk, reliability requirements, manufacturing goals, and cost targets.
Drive Design for Test (DFT) early in the product development lifecycle.
Lead the development of production test systems, including tester architecture, hardware, fixtures, interfaces, automation, and test software.
Support test system bring-up, debugging, validation, and release to production.
Ensure test systems are scalable, maintainable, reliable, and cost-effective.
Partner with Engineering and NPI teams through EVT, DVT, PVT, production ramp, and sustaining.
Lead the transition of test solutions from engineering builds to high-volume manufacturing.
Validate test processes using GR&R, Cp/Cpk, correlation studies, and other statistical methods.
Establish and track metrics for yield, test coverage, cycle time, throughput, and equipment performance.
Use manufacturing data to identify issues, improve yield, reduce cost, and optimize test efficiency.
Transfer test systems to offshore contract manufacturers and ensure consistency in documentation, training, validation, and change control.
Support test system deployment, production ramp, debugging, and yield stabilization at CM locations.
Coordinate outsourced test development, tester builds, and delivery schedules with internal teams, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing test engineering team.
Establish clear expectations, technical standards, ownership, and accountability.
Communicate risks, priorities, and technical decisions clearly across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of test engineering experience within electronics, manufacturing, or another hardware-based environment.
5+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
Deep experience with PCBA and system-level testing.
Experience developing automated production test systems, including hardware, fixtures, automation, and test software.
Proven experience supporting products through NPI, EVT, DVT, PVT, production ramp, and sustaining.
Experience transferring test solutions to offshore contract manufacturers.
Strong understanding of DFT, test coverage, yield improvement, test validation, statistics, and manufacturing data.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work while remaining hands-on when needed.
Strong problem-solving, cross-functional leadership, and communication skills.
Experience with ATE platforms, LabVIEW, Python, NI TestStand, or similar tools preferred.
Experience developing statements of work for outsourced test development preferred.
Experience with semiconductor equipment, industrial automation, robotics, medical devices, or other complex hardware systems preferred.

Our Total Rewards Philosophy

We believe rewarding employees extends beyond base compensation. Our total rewards approach is designed to recognize performance, support long-term growth, and create shared success through competitive pay, bonus program eligibility, participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which provides employees the opportunity to share in the company’s long-term success, 401(k) match, comprehensive health and wellness benefits, paid time off, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a 100% employee-owned company.
