Company Description Creative Digital Systems Integration specializes in innovative solutions for complex RF challenges, with a focus on digital multi-beamforming antenna arrays and telemetry control systems. The company designs and develops digital beamforming antennas, complete telemetry antenna systems, and modular wideband feeds tailored to demanding performance requirements. Its work includes electromechanical performance testing and validation of tracking systems to ensure reliability and accuracy in the field. Applicants can expect to join a technically rigorous environment that values elegant engineering, system integration expertise, and precise RF performance.
Role Description The Senior Lead FPGA Firmware Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Simi Valley, CA. This position oversees the design, implementation, and verification of FPGA-based firmware for advanced RF, beamforming, and telemetry systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading a small engineering team, architecting firmware solutions, writing and reviewing HDL code, coordinating integration with digital and RF hardware, and managing design documentation and configuration control. The role also involves collaborating with systems, hardware, and test engineers to define requirements, support lab bring-up, perform troubleshooting, and optimize performance. The Senior Lead FPGA Firmware Manager is expected to drive best practices in design methodologies, mentor team members, and contribute to project planning and technical decision-making.
Qualifications
Strong FPGA design and development skills, including experience with HDL languages (such as VHDL or Verilog) and FPGA implementation flows.
Expertise in digital signal processing and RF-related firmware architectures, especially for beamforming, telemetry, or high-speed communication systems.
Proficiency with simulation, verification, and debugging tools for FPGA/firmware, along with testbench development and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
Experience leading engineering teams, managing technical projects, conducting design reviews, and coordinating cross-functional collaboration.
Solid understanding of embedded systems, digital electronics, and interface protocols commonly used in complex RF and telemetry systems.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, clear technical communication skills, and a commitment to quality and repeatable engineering processes.
Experience in electromechanical system testing, antenna systems, or defense/aerospace applications is beneficial.
