This highly specialized engineering role will focus on diagnosing and resolving complex issues across high-speed digital, mixed-signal, analog, and RF circuit boards that support mission-critical terrestrial and maritime communication platforms.
This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced hardware technologies, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and serve as a technical leader in extending the operational life of complex communication systems deployed around the world.
Compensation
Direct hire with full benefits
Salary: $155,500 – $246,000
Incentives: Comprehensive benefits package and additional performance-based compensation opportunities
Location:
Must be based in Phoenix area, 5 days onsite per week
Work Status
U.S. Citizenship required.
Primary Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve failures occurring within advanced electronic assemblies used in satellite communication systems.
Perform detailed board-level and component-level diagnostics on high-speed digital designs incorporating processors, programmable logic devices, memory architectures, storage interfaces, and communication chipsets.
Evaluate and troubleshoot mixed-signal and analog circuitry, including data conversion, clocking, filtering, amplification, and power regulation functions.
Analyze power management architectures, including switching regulators, linear supplies, sequencing circuits, and control loop performance.
Support debugging efforts for RF and UHF communication hardware utilizing DSP, FPGA, and embedded processing technologies.
Utilize laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF measurement equipment, digital multimeters, and specialized programming tools to isolate root causes.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and program teams to drive effective corrective actions and product recovery efforts.
Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians supporting multiple product lines and customer programs.
Partner with test engineering teams to develop validation methodologies, diagnostic procedures, and test coverage improvements.
Contribute to long-term hardware sustainment initiatives, including component obsolescence mitigation and alternative part qualification efforts.
Create and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, engineering procedures, and recovery processes that improve operational efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Develop deep technical expertise across supported platforms and contribute recommendations for future hardware enhancements and architectural improvements.
Candidate Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of experience working with complex electronic hardware, including high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuit designs.
Strong understanding of modern serial communication standards and interfaces, including DDR memory technologies, Ethernet, USB, PCIe, SATA, LVDS, and related protocols.
