RED is looking for a seasoned, senior Hardware Engineer (exact title (Senior, Principal or Senior Principal) and compensation to be aligned to experience) to join our team to design aggressive, cutting-edge hardware. This is an opportunity to broaden your skills by working with technologies such as video transmission, data storage, high-resolution displays, wireless, analog audio, motor control, battery charging, high-density interconnects, and image sensors. This is an ideal position for an engineer who is flexible and eager to learn about new technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, develops, and tests circuits that meet system specifications
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications
Provides circuit layout design requirements, guidance, and design feedback to PCB team
Creates and publishes hardware deliverables such as schematics, BOMs, technical documentation, and test reports that conform to company guidelines
Works closely with mechanical, thermal, software, and PCB teams to complete projects per published schedules
Participates in design reviews and provides technical feedback to other hardware team members
Follows department/work group processes
Completes assigned tasks that meet quality, functionality and scheduled objectives

REQUIREMENTS
B.S. in electrical engineering or engineering with electronic experience required
6+ years of experience with end-to-end electronic product design, including hands-on debug and verification experience
Experience in embedded system architecture, digital design, microprocessor/DSP and memory systems, chip-to-chip interconnections, component selection, and power supply design required
Experience with consumer or broadcast video system design, camera system design, audio circuit design, or high-speed digital design preferred
Skilled using schematic capture CAD software and familiar with PCB layout and simulation tools (Siemens toolset: Xpedition designer, Xpedition design cockpit, EDM server, HyperLynx)
Proficient using electronic test and measurement tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs, protocol analyzers, etc.)
Understands importance of complete and correct hardware documentation
Familiar with regulatory compliance testing such as HALT, FCC, and CE
Familiar with electronic manufacturing processes, including PCB fabrication and common DFM and DFT practices
Strong problem-solving skills including circuit troubleshooting and root-cause identification and correction
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
