Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end electrical design of Battery Management Systems (BMS) for automotive applications.
Design high-voltage monitoring, cell balancing, protection circuits, and communication interfaces including CAN, LIN, and SPI.
Define and document BMS electrical architecture aligned with vehicle requirements and safety standards.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define system and performance requirements.
Develop hardware components including PCBs, microcontrollers, analog/digital circuits, and sensors.
Create schematics and select electronic components.
Work with PCB layout teams to ensure reliable hardware performance.
Build, test, and validate hardware prototypes.
Integrate monitoring circuits for voltage, current, temperature, and state-of-charge measurement.
Ensure compliance with ISO 26262, IEC 62133, and other safety standards.
Conduct safety analysis and support DFMEA/WCCA activities.
Collaborate with software, systems, and testing teams for BMS integration.
Create technical documentation including specifications, test plans, and reports.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues.
Support continuous improvement and adoption of emerging technologies.
Coordinate with offshore/global engineering teams.
Lead technical reviews and cross-functional engineering discussions.
Required Skills
Strong experience in automotive BMS hardware design.
Expertise in PCB design and electrical circuit development.
Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
Experience with CAN, LIN, SPI communication protocols.
Knowledge of Li-Ion batteries and battery safety systems.
Experience using Altium Designer, Cadence, and SPICE tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Leadership experience managing technical teams and engineering activities.
Experience with ISO 26262, DFMEA, and WCCA.
Preferred Skills
Experience with electric vehicles (EV), ECUs, MEMS, and sensors.
Knowledge of C/C++ programming.
Experience working with global or offshore teams.
