A leading developer of ruggedized computing and graphics solutions is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join its engineering team in Orlando, Florida.
This organization designs and manufactures advanced embedded computing platforms and graphics technologies deployed in mission-critical environments where reliability, performance, and durability are essential. The Role
The Senior Hardware Design Engineer will lead the design and development of ruggedized electronic hardware platforms, embedded computing systems, and advanced graphics solutions.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in high-speed digital design, PCB development, signal integrity, hardware validation, and system-level integration. This individual will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from architecture and design through validation, manufacturing support, and continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware Architecture & Design
• Lead the design and development of electronic hardware for ruggedized graphics systems, embedded computing platforms, and supporting subsystems
• Develop schematics and support multilayer PCB design using industry-standard EDA tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar platforms
• Perform circuit analysis, signal integrity assessments, and power integrity validation
• Evaluate and select components based on technical requirements, cost targets, lifecycle considerations, and supply chain availability
• Contribute to system architecture decisions involving GPUs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory subsystems, and high-speed interfaces
Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration
• Partner with software, FPGA, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful system integration
• Participate in design reviews and engineering trade studies
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) initiatives
• Provide technical mentorship and design guidance to fellow engineers
Validation & Product Development
• Lead hardware bring-up, prototype validation, debugging, and functional verification activities
• Conduct laboratory testing using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment
• Support environmental qualification and compliance testing activities
• Assist with low-level hardware/software integration efforts including firmware and driver interactions
• Support manufacturing transition and production issue resolution
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and design methodologies
• Contribute to intellectual property development, technical documentation, and engineering process improvements
• Support configuration management and quality initiatives aligned with industry best practices

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development
• Experience delivering complex hardware products through the full product development lifecycle
Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in high-speed digital design and analog circuit fundamentals
• Experience with PCB design and schematic capture using Altium Designer, OrCAD, Cadence, or equivalent tools
• Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging
• Proficiency using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and network analyzers
• Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, and hardware simulation tools
• Understanding of embedded systems architecture, FPGA integration, and microcontroller-based designs
• Familiarity with low-level hardware/software interaction and system-level debugging
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing hardware for aerospace, defense, industrial, transportation, or other mission-critical environments
• Knowledge of environmental qualification standards and ruggedized hardware design practices
• Experience with thermal management, EMI/EMC mitigation, and power distribution challenges
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, or similar quality management systems
• Exposure to GPU-based computing platforms and NVIDIA technologies
• Experience developing hardware for harsh operating environments
