We are partnering with an innovative defense electronics company in the Nashua, NH area seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to lead the design, simulation, and integration of high-performance FPGA-based electro-optical systems.
This role is heavily focused on real-time video processing, sensor interfaces, and hardware integration in mission-critical defense applications.
What you’ll do
Design and implement FPGA-based digital systems from architecture through integration and lab validation
Develop and optimize RTL using VHDL / Verilog (SystemVerilog a plus)
Build and support high-speed video and sensor processing pipelines (MIPI, LVDS, camera interfaces)
Perform simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and hardware bring-up
Debug complex integration issues using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
Work cross-functionally with hardware and system engineering teams to deliver production-ready systems
Required experience
6–10+ years FPGA design experience
Strong proficiency with Xilinx / AMD FPGA toolchains (Vivado preferred)
Deep RTL design experience (VHDL or Verilog)
Experience with FPGA simulation, synthesis, and timing closure
Hands-on lab debug and hardware integration experience
Experience working with high-speed interfaces (DDR, SERDES, Ethernet, etc.)
Preferred experience
Video processing / imaging pipelines (MIPI, LVDS, camera sensors)
Defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical embedded systems
Board-level hardware familiarity (schematics, bring-up, troubleshooting)
Experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, or advanced verification methods
Location
Onsite – (Southern NH / Boston Metro candidates considered)
