We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer I – Silicon Validation to support a global semiconductor client developing next-generation Ethernet, USB, PCI Express, and High-Speed Networking products.
This position offers an opportunity to work remotely from India while collaborating with highly experienced engineering teams across the United States on cutting-edge semiconductor technologies.
Position Overview
As a Senior Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in validating production silicon for advanced connectivity products. You will participate in post-silicon validation, silicon characterization, hardware debugging, interoperability testing, and automation while working closely with Design Engineering, Verification Engineering, Product Engineering, and Applications teams.
You will contribute to ensuring first-pass silicon success by identifying issues early, performing detailed root-cause analysis, and supporting production-quality releases.
Key ResponsibilitiesPost-Silicon Validation
Execute validation and characterization activities for advanced connectivity products.
Validate silicon functionality against architecture specifications and product requirements.
Execute validation plans for Ethernet PHYs, Ethernet Switches, USB 3.x Hubs, PCI Express devices, and other high-speed interfaces.
Support silicon qualification and production readiness activities.
Silicon Bring-Up & Hardware Debug
Support first silicon bring-up activities.
Perform board bring-up and hardware debugging.
Validate power sequencing, clocks, reset architecture, and boot functionality.
Debug hardware/software interaction issues.
Perform interoperability testing with third-party systems.
Validation Planning & Execution
Develop validation plans from architecture specifications and datasheets.
Execute manual and automated validation test cases.
Perform functional, stress, regression, and characterization testing.
Support feature validation across multiple silicon revisions.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Silicon Validation, Hardware Validation, Post-Silicon Validation, or System-Level Testing.
Strong understanding of semiconductor product development and validation methodologies.
Experience with silicon bring-up, board validation, and hardware debugging.
Strong knowledge of power sequencing, clocking, reset architecture, and signal integrity.
Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other laboratory instruments.
Hands-on experience with Ethernet technologies compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards.
Understanding of IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), SyncE, and IEEE 802.1AE MACsec.
Knowledge of high-speed Ethernet architectures including Optical Ethernet, Backplane Ethernet, KR/KR-S, FEC, Retimers, and Ethernet PHYs.
Experience validating USB 2.0, USB 3.x, USB 3.2, and PCI Express products.
Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience developing automation using Python.
Familiarity with Git, JIRA, and collaborative engineering environments.
Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on Ethernet PHYs and Ethernet Switches.
Experience with first silicon bring-up and production qualification.
Knowledge of board schematic review and PCB layout analysis.
Experience with high-speed serial interfaces operating beyond 25Gbps.
Exposure to validation automation frameworks and laboratory infrastructure.
Experience supporting customer-reported technical issues and interoperability testing.
