Based in Bengaluru, our 500+ team delivers value-added services to Lufthansa Technik’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) spectrum for all common commercial aircraft types (Airbus, Boeing, Embraer). LTSI specializes in customer service, supply chain management, digital and engineering services, procurement, airfreight and financial services for the aviation industry.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Embedded Systems Engineer with 2–8 years of experience to contribute to avionics tooling and equipment development within Lufthansa Technik. In this role, you will be responsible for hardware bring-up, test platform development, and electronics design analysis, ensuring robust and reliable system performance. You will independently execute technical tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and support end-to-end validation activities. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the adoption of best engineering practices. The role involves close collaboration with global stakeholders across regions to ensure aligned and seamless execution.
Responsibilities
Technical Evaluation & Analysis
Perform functional analysis of SRUs (Shop Replaceable Units) using schematics, technical documentation, and interface definitions.
Derive test strategies based on system behavior and engineering requirements.
Test Software Development
Develop and maintain test software for embedded systems using Python.
Translate functional requirements and analysis findings into structured, scalable, and reusable test code.
Ensure robustness, maintainability, and traceability of test logic.
Execution & Delivery Ownership
Take ownership of assigned modules/components, delivering independently with minimal supervision while meeting defined timelines and performance targets.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across software and hardware interfaces during development and testing phases.
Debugging & Validation
Perform system-level debugging using lab instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.).
Validate test setups, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and alignment with engineering requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Optimization
Identify workflow and development gaps, and drive improvements in processes, code efficiency, and overall engineering productivity.
Contribute to automation, digital workflows, toolchain enhancements, and reusable solutions to improve efficiency and team performance.
Quality & Risk Awareness
Ensure technical output meets engineering standards and organizational processes.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to align on requirements, support project execution, and resolve technical issues.
Communicate technical findings, feasibility assessments, and test results clearly to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Educational Background
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2–6 years of relevant experience in embedded systems, electronics engineering, or avionics-related domains.
Experience in supporting engineering projects with hands-on involvement in development, testing, and troubleshooting.
Exposure to Aircraft/Component MRO (Part-145) is an added advantage.
Required Skills
Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of electronic components, analog/digital circuits, and embedded systems.
Proficiency in communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet.
Experience in embedded software development; Python programming is mandatory.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in hardware and system-level issues.
Experience with PCB design concepts, including multi-layer boards and circuit analysis.
Good understanding and practical experience in SDLC, including requirements, design, development, testing, and release phases.
Engineering Systems and Tools
Experience with EDA tools such as Altium Designer or KiCad for schematic design and PCB layout.
Proficiency with lab and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and signal generators.
Experience with test and measurement scripting or automation (e.g., Python-based tools).
Understanding of configuration management and documentation practices in engineering environments.
Experience working in Agile environments with exposure to CI/CD practices.
Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jira, and Jenkins for version control, tracking, and automation.
Data & Analytical Capability
Strong analytical mindset with experience in data analysis, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
